Always eat breakfast can enhance brain function

breakfast can enhance brain function Always eat breakfast can enhance brain function

Data have shown that eating breakfast can enhance brain function, enhance memory, improve academic performance, to promote the emotional and psychological health.

The study found that with very few children eat breakfast than those who eat breakfast usually children, will be higher than the math score of 40%.

Children do not eat breakfast there the possibility of depression and anxiety, respectively, are other children and of 4 times 3 times.

And insist children eat breakfast than those who do not eat breakfast, there ADHD and other mental illnesses the possibility of higher than 30%.

In addition, the study also showed that children do not eat breakfast, to eat breakfast, they will have great academic performance leap, at the same time, these children depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder a significant reduction in the probability.

Many photos for Mexico drug war

cxdBoston’s largest photo website, each very good, the concern about the drug problem in Mexico, a lot of adult lens, the onlookers link 34 photos.

Let my heart are the two following.

Between the United States and Mexico border wall, much like the dinosaurs back.

In December of 2006, Mexico’s new President Felipe Calderón declared war on the drug cartels, reversing earlier government passiveness.

Since then, the government has made some gains, but at a heavy price – gun battles, assasinations, kidnappings, fights between rival cartels, and reprisals have resulted in over 9,500 deaths since December 2006 – over 5,300 killed last year alone.

President Barack Obama recently announced extra agents were being deployed to the border and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton heads to Mexico today to pursue a broad diplomatic agenda – overshadowed now by spiraling drug violence and fears of greater cross-border spillover.

Officials on both sides of the border are committed to stopping the violence, and stemming the flow of drugs heading north and guns and cash heading south. (Many photos)

Broken world record wind power car

ecotricity greenbird world record 1 Broken world record wind power car

Richard Jenkins English invented the Greenbird, wind power car. March 26 morning, Richard driving it, the United States at Ivanpah Lake to a maximum speed of 202.9 kilometers / hour speed, high-speed driving, breaking the world record. Connection (have video)

Greenbird use carbon fiber composite materials and weighing 600kg, apart from the wind outside, there is no additional power. Richard put it described as a very powerful: the sand yacht + F1 hybrid car + plane.

Richard company Ecotricity, before long, will introduce the general type of wind car.

On the morning of March 26th, on the ‘dry’ Lake Ivanpah, The Ecotricity Greenbird driven by British engineer, Richard Jenkins smashed the world land speed record for wind powered vehicles.

The Greenbird clocked 126.1 mph (202.9 km/h) , eclipsing the old, American held, record of 116 mph , set by Bob Schumacher in the Iron Duck in March 1999 at the same location.

More details to come plus comments from Richard and Dale on this terrific accomplishment.

Nano-cosmetics may be harmful

nano cosmetics may be harmful 1 Nano cosmetics may be harmful

Nanomaterials used in cosmetics sales promotion, is as high-tech attractions, such as, the sun more powerful and effective to kill harmful bacteria isolated. Manufacturers obviously know that if they add in their products a true nano-materials, then microorganisms are harmful.

The United States has a lot of scientists, to study the specific hazards, they say, sun cream and skincare in the nano-elements, we take a bath after finally entering the sewage system into the natural water cycle.

On the nature of the ecological cycle of an effective containment, experiments showed that a certain amount of nano-molecular implantation, a region can significantly reduce the quantity of micro-organisms. The dish was originally green, quickly turned into a dark red, shows the destruction of microbial systems.

Scientists believe that nano-materials industry, water damage microbial environment, thus undermining the self-cleaning ability of water to live and fish there is also a potential threat, to be to continue to study.

Therefore, we can not count on quality inspection department, because too high-tech, they do not understand, even the scientists are in dispute.

We do not have to worry too much, because, first, according to my experience of the products, high-tech elements, ads are generally, especially in cosmetics, will not be added to the list of true; Secondly, the micro-organisms are very powerful, anti-nano The emergence of micro-organisms, are inevitable, just as antibiotics, is now into the dessert General Microbiology.Source

Nanoparticles in sunscreens, cosmetics and hundreds of other consumer products may pose risks to the environment by damaging beneficial microbes, scientists reported Tuesday.

A study by University of Toledo researchers discovered that nano-titanium dioxide used in personal care products reduced biological roles of bacteria after less than an hour of exposure. The findings suggest that these particles, which end up at municipal sewage treatment plants after being washed off in showers, could eliminate microbes that play vital roles in ecosystems and help treat wastewater.

Nano-titanium dioxide is used in many sunscreens and other personal care products to help block ultraviolet light that can cause skin cancer.

But this new report and other scientific research suggest such characteristics may come at an ecological price.

In the paper presented Tuesday at the annual conference of the American Chemical Society in Salt Lake City, researchers Cyndee Gruden and Olga Mileyeva-Biebesheimer added varying amounts of nanoparticles to water containing bacteria. The bacteria were grown in a lab and stained with a green fluorescent.

The scientists saw significant damage to the bacteria’s cell walls after adding 10 to 100 milligrams per liter of the nanosubstance. The cell membranes changed from green fluorescent to a faint red glow, which indicates damage.

How fast the cell damage occurred was surprising, said Gruden. Although the researchers did not measure survival rates, the cell wall damage indicates the bacteria lost functionality, Gruden said.

“Bacteria do not necessarily have to die to lose their biological functions,” added Gruden.

Though most of these particles stick to solids and might be filtered out at wastewater plants, a small percentage probably escapes treatment, and those particles would be discharged into lakes, streams, oceans and other waterways, said Gruden. If the beneficial microbes were damaged, environmental and human health could be harmed.

Microbes remove ammonia from wastewater treatment systems, clean up toxic waste and reduce phosphorus in lakes, all benefits that could be hindered or lost with the presence of nanoparticles.

Another study to be presented at the conference on Thursday shows beneficial soil bacteria cannot tolerate silver, copper oxide and zinc oxide nanoparticles, also used in sunscreens and other products. Damage to the bacteria, which clean up organic pollutants, occurred at very low levels of exposure, equivalent to two drops in an Olympic-size swimming pool, according to the study conducted by scientists at Utah State University and University of Utah.

Researchers warned these particles could be toxic to aquatic life. “If you look up the Environmental Protection Agency’s risk level of copper to fish and other aquatic organisms, you are at that point of toxicity,” said Utah State researcher Anne J. Anderson.

The question now, said Gruden, is whether the microbes will behave the same in the more complex environment of wastewater.

“This is a preliminary study and right now there is nothing that suggests what these particles may do in the environment,” said Andrew Maynard, chief science advisor for the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies. “But this is how science works, we first look at the impact of these particles in a pristine environment and then test them out in the real world.”

The lab findings do support a trend of uncertainty growing around nanoparticles in consumer products.

“We have a real range of products that strike me as really concerning because of the gap between what we know and what I would like to know,” said Sonya Lunder, senior analyst at the Environmental Working Group.

Nanotechnology has been hailed for its benefits because of the potential ability to create drugs that could cure cancer and radiation poisoning, make miniature pollutant filters resulting in healthier air and even produce better tasting food. Excitement over these benefits has led to corporations heavily investing in the technology for their products. However, the same properties that allow nanotechnology to be valuable give it the potential to cause unforeseen consequences for ecological and human health.

Prior research has shown mice injected with carbon nanotubes developed biological damage similar to asbestos inhalation. A 2005 study in Environmental Science and Technology showed that zinc oxide particles were toxic to human lung cells.

Manipulated to 1/100,000 the width of a human hair, nanoparticles can act differently when operating at the quantum level.

“When you make something at the nanoscale it has the ability to get to places that larger material is incapable of getting to, such as cells, and creates greater surface area so you are increasing the ability to cause harm,” Maynard said.

In addition, said Maynard, some materials create new chemical properties.

Adding to the confusion over nanotechnology is the lack of scientific data on many of the particles now found in products.

“Each nanoparticle its own characteristics and we need to start getting a handle on these things and how they might interact with the environment,” Gruden said.

Nevertheless, Maynard said studies finding potential hazards with nanoparticles are not likely to keep them out of products.

“Rather than slowing down the use of these materials, really the push will be to increase the level of knowledge to handle them safely,” he said.

Uh, this is also quite boring. The jay playing at their own office, arranged a small scene, figure, are printed on both Space Invaders target.

Well, now you can be in the office space for the real version of the Games of the aggressor. (^_^: That aggressors do not do dynamic, fixed target)

In the beginning you were a Starfighter, recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan armada… well, actually the beginning was something much simpler, something more like Space Invaders.

Space Invaders was a classic, it spurred the video game industry, inspired a vast genre, can still be played online and occasionally even in a lecture hall.

Now, you can play in my office;

Well, it would be hubris to claim that my humble beginnings have reached the same success but I do believe it has matured in much the same vein. I seem to have moved beyond building a deadly office putting toy to a serious office defense system!

wii remote control small vehicles 2 Wii remote control of small vehicles

This might even classify as something much more sophisticated than some Russian spy gear! Now I’m truly ready to defend my office against any and all invaders, alien or otherwise!

In truth, I’m hoping I can stash this in a friends office maybe for a surprise ambush! However, in practice it might be hard to convince someone to put on a face shield before heading to work.

Building from my previous creation I connected my wiimote to a servo via some python and my ioBridge 204 module, only this time I replaced the coilgun with a remotely triggered airsoft gun! Now there are no more issues with reloading a weapons system half a world a way after each shot!

Here is the action sequence;

Food nutrition mistakes make you surprised

green vegetable Food nutrition mistakes make you surprisedI do not know what time from the start, there is food in the nutrition, beginning with the views of a model.

Referred to certain nutrients, some thought must give people food, and certain foods that tend to make people think of some of the ingredients and nutrition.

For example, when it comes to vitamin C, people will immediately think of lemons and oranges; one that potassium, people would immediately think of the banana; carotene that one, people will certainly think of a carrot; one that spinach, will immediately want to drafting acid; 1 celery said, would immediately think of blood pressure … …

In fact, the health of the role of food, should not this model are of. A lot of food nutrition facts, will make us very surprised! Do not believe it? See below some examples of the nutritional value of food:

- Who is the winner potassium in food?

Potassium contained in taro, bananas and more than 50%. In fact, all the tubers are an excellent source of potassium. As long as rice put into the same content in potato starch, potassium intake can be increased by 10 times! Some people, such as diabetes, kidney stone patients, patients with gout, high blood pressure patients, as well as those who like to eat salty, it is easy to excessive loss of potassium, eat potato alternative staple food, it is a good idea.

In fact, green leafy vegetables, the potassium content of more than there is a lot of bananas, such as spinach, Kale, lettuce leaf, water spinach, amaranth, and other Gynura. Now that Americans eat the rich variety green vegetable, why must the people do not like vegetables like bananas to resort to this?

- Really good source of magnesium

Magnesium for strong bones, control blood pressure, are very important, also known as the “anti-stress nutrients.” When it comes to magnesium, however, people will usually think of bananas. In fact, it is only the fruit of Mg only winner.

Almost all the dark green leafy vegetables are good sources of magnesium, the content be able to meet or exceed the level of banana. The reason is simple: each of the chlorophyll molecules which contain a magnesium ion, so the more color green, the more magnesium.

Another of the best sources of magnesium are nuts and seeds category, such as eating 50 seeds Kersee, it is equivalent to eating 200 grams of magnesium green vegetable. However, green leafy vegetables the heat, only one-third of the banana, nuts about the one-twentieth. Therefore, if you afraid fat, then eat green vegetable added potassium and magnesium, is the best choice.

- Do not eat fruits and vegetables can also add vitamin C

Tomato is generally believed that vegetables are the best of vitamin C, in fact, potatoes contained in vitamin C than tomatoes more! Not only potatoes, sweet potato, taro, yam tubers and other foods containing a lot of vitamin C. Among a variety of green leafy vegetables contain vitamin C, almost all over tomatoes.

Indeed green vegetables are vitamin C in the Championship, but it is lower acidity, vitamin C loss in the cooking which is relatively large. Even though the vitamin C content of potatoes is only one-third of green, but because of starch on the vitamin C has a strong protective effect, potatoes in the cooking process of a small loss of vitamin C. Therefore, if to do with potatoes staples, even if not to eat other fruits and vegetables, vitamin C is also able to meet the needs of the human body. Northerners miss a meal over the past winter vegetables, a lot of people do not lack vitamin C, because they often use potatoes and sweet potato as the staple food.

- Summary

To learn more about the nutritional value of food must not only remember that some so-called “representatives”, in fact, a lot of the nutritional value of food is not bad than they are, but no more than less well-known. Therefore, a healthy diet do not have to rigidly adhere to a certain food, the most important thing is reasonable with all kinds of food. You do not like a food, can be used to replace other foods. – This is not a more relaxed, more happy?
